Do you want to redo some older pieces of furniture to give new life to those tired-looking but still quality pieces, and do you want to learn all there is to using this magical paint called Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan, then a Paddywac’s workshop is the way to go.  It’s all about the undeniably magical paint Annie Sloan developed over 20 years ago in England with a chemist.  She called it Chalk Paint® because of its chalky feel and one of the things that makes this paint so different is that it requires little to no prep-work by sanding or priming,

Literally – no sanding – no priming – no prep – no kidding!

Are you ready to try CHALK PAINT® but aren’t sure where to start?  Do you want to know - What techniques work best for which kinds of furniture?  What about scratched pieces?
Broken and chipped veneer? What to do about a piece you have painted and it has started to bleed?  Super shiny? Ikea??  You will get all these questions answers and much more like:
  • when and how to apply clear wax,
  • how to use the dark wax, what is the difference,
  • what are some of the common mistakes people make,
  • distressing with dark wax,
  • when to buff, how to buff,
  • and lots more waxing information that can help you achieve your best project results

Three hours of fun and learning and when it comes to hands-on painting in the workshop, each student has their own unique painterly, creative, individualized look – all using Annie’s techniques but all slightly different.  At the end of the Chalk Paint® Workshop you’ll leave with your painted samples and any supplies you decide to purchase, and of course, the confidence you now have in your own abilities.

Paddywac's has a new training location which is just around the corner from our Main Street Location.  2010 Second Ave. Studio, and there will be more to come on this fabulous historic building in Anoka - perfect space for Workshops, furniture display, working on projects and gatherings.

Exciting News at Paddywac's
We've expanded our "Paint Studio."  It's been moved out of the store and around the corner to 2010 2nd Avenue here in Anoka (previously The Yarn Shop).  This awesome historic building is the perfect spot for workshops, workspace, furniture display and finally a bit of office.  We will be developing this space over the next few months and look forward to seeing it grow.

With more room now, we are looking for vendors.  Does a vintage curvy dresser call to you?  Does your heart sing when you put the first coat of paint on that vanity you just scored?  Are you passionate about recreating furniture, have the now-how of finding those potential treasures, have an "eye" for design, hard working and committed to the DIY world?  Then Paddywac's is looking for you.

We're not quite ready (but we will be) for July 2014 Market.  The final clean up and preparation comes today.
We may be open every weekend BUT
we're always new and exciting come Monthly Market!!

We hope to see you.
