What style are you? French Country,
Boho Chic, Rustic, Modern Contemporary.
Or perhaps a combination of styles.
When you think French - interiors and images of monogrammed linens,
carved armoires, glittering chandeliers, Toile de Jouy fabric come to mind. The French style has impacted decoration
around the world. Eighteenth-century
rococo is what many see as French with its curvy lines and playfulness, with a
color palette that includes white, of course, Aubusson Blue, French Linen,
Chateau Grey, and Antoinette. This style
has become the preferred style here at Paddywac's. After years of painting furniture - we now
look for those defining characteristics that speak to the French Style.
Boho Chic - a style of interiors
that takes inspiration from a less formal and more relaxed style. Boho, comes from the word Bohemian, usually
used to describe an artist with an unconventional way of life, although when referring
to interiors the meaning a slightly offbeat, unconventional design style . Bold
greens, oranges, turquoise, Antibes Green, Florence - all used together
to create definite "wow" look.
Country Style - developed out of practicality, with function coming
before style. Weathered, worn and
natural with warm, washed and faded painted wood, limed oak and rough walls; earthy
with whites and neutrals. A style that
has come straight from the farm, bold colors such as strong reds, bright greens
and blues work very well with Country.
Modern Contemporary - style has become quite popular with the
availability of 1950-60 furniture. These
pieces can be painted in a "Retro" way or modern and architectural
where there's minimal decoration and large slabs of color used in a room, as
well as painting just one wall in a different color. Stripes have taken a new role on these
straight lined pieces.
